My weekly trashure

My Weekly Trashure

“If we all would pick up a piece of plastic off the street every day, the country would be free of plastic litter”.
That’s the sentence that got stuck in my mind after reading a
book about sustainable living (The Hidden Impact, Babette Porcelijn, 2016).

How such little effort can have such a huge impact. Even tough the book was about the Netherlands, I figured the same would apply for Denmark.

So, I started. Every day I picked a piece of trash off the streets of Aarhus. It was interesting to examine the objects: to define what it was, how clean or filthy it was. Was it thrown away or was someone missing this? Who was the last owner?
Every week I ended up with seven pieces of litter I had found on the street: my weekly trashure.
